Hi! My name is Emily Eberhardt. I am a scientist, published writer, and creative relocating to the DMV in January 2025. For the past six years, I have lived in Ann Arbor, MI, where I completed my PhD and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan. Over the past nine years, I have studied biomedical sciences, focusing on microbiology, cancer biology, structural biology, and translational research.

Beyond the lab bench, I specialize in translating complex biological research into accessible, engaging content. In 2022, I joined a trainee science writing organization, Michigan Science Writers, where I began editing and writing for a general audience. I’m passionate about guiding ideas to to create compelling stories, and I am now pursuing a career in science writing.

In my free time, I create and sell my own original artwork under the name “bioart by emily.” I enjoy getting to share my passion with scientists and artists alike!
